01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and a genuine passion for serving others. Throughout my career in financial services and financial crimes risk management, I have intentionally invested in expanding my knowledge through higher education and professional development. In addition to earning my degree, I have pursued certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Life Coach, and Mental Health First Aid USA. Each has strengthened a different aspect of my leadership—from technical expertise and strategic thinking to empathy and effective communication. I believe success comes from remaining curious, embracing lifelong learning, and combining professional excellence with a people-centered approach that builds trust, collaboration, and meaningful results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to always be authentic, honest, and strong-willed. Staying true to my values has allowed me to build trust, lead with integrity, and make decisions with confidence, even in challenging situations. I've learned that authenticity fosters meaningful relationships, honesty establishes credibility, and resilience provides the determination to navigate obstacles and continue growing both personally and professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to know your value and never underestimate what you bring to the table. Believe in your abilities, advocate for yourself, and don't be afraid to walk away from opportunities, positions, or environments where you are not respected or valued. Surround yourself with people who recognize your contributions, invest in your growth, and empower you to succeed. When you have confidence in your worth, you make decisions that align with your values and create a career built on purpose, respect, and long-term fulfillment.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in my field is the continued advancement of women in risk management, compliance, and financial services. I am proud to support this progress through my involvement with Risky Women, an organization dedicated to empowering and advancing women in risk and compliance by fostering mentorship, professional development, and meaningful industry connections. As the regulatory and risk landscape continues to evolve, organizations that embrace diverse perspectives and invest in developing strong, inclusive leadership will be better positioned to navigate emerging challenges and drive lasting success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, accountability, and a commitment to developing others. As a Vice President and Financial Crimes Risk Manager, I believe strong leadership is built on trust, collaboration, and leading by example. I also place great value on mentorship, both as a mentor and a mentee, and I am especially grateful for the guidance of my mentor, Kyle Erk, whose support has helped shape my professional growth. I strive to foster an environment where people feel empowered to learn, grow, and contribute with confidence.
