Her Interview

Ten minutes with LaTesha

01What do you attribute your success to?

My parents instilled hard work in me, and the only person that can stop you from being a success is you. You have to be resilient, keep pushing and striving, pray until something happens. My faith in God is the most important thing, with favorite verse Jeremiah 29:11.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Education is the best career because it births all other occupations. If you don't learn from a teacher, then none of us will be able to have the titles and positions that we hold.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Make sure that she knows her content and material. When she enters that area, she steps in boldly and with confidence. Once you've made it, you have to bring others with you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Biggest challenges for females in male-dominated area: not looked at as able to handle stress or workload, politics. Opportunities: many to grow in education, educate yourself more, move to higher positions, not stuck in one area.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I believe in family. One should always function with the highest integrity, being responsible, honest, versatile, and able to adapt. Every day live to impact someone positively. Giving back to the community through talents, finances, time, knowledge, or helping navigate seasons.
