Latori Griffin, PhD, LMFT, NCC, is a dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and counselor with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. She currently serves as an associate at the Gainesville Family Institute, where she brings her expertise in mental health, relationship counseling, and holistic family support to her clients. With licenses in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas, Latori’s professional reach spans multiple states, reflecting her commitment to providing accessible, high-quality care.
Latori’s academic journey has been deeply rooted in the University of Florida, where she earned her PhD in Counselor Education with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. She also holds a Master’s degree in Counselor Education with the same focus, as well as an Education Specialist (EdS) credential. Her extensive education underpins her evidence-based approach to therapy, blending clinical expertise with a compassionate, client-centered philosophy that prioritizes growth, resilience, and healing.
Outside of her professional work, Latori is a devoted mother of three who enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling to new countries, and immersing herself in diverse cultures and cuisines. She is an active community volunteer, supporting the homeless population, mentoring young women, and contributing to organizations such as the Florida Recovery Center and Meridian Behavioral Healthcare. Latori’s dedication to service, family, and personal growth informs every aspect of her work and life, making her a trusted therapist, mentor, and role model in her community.

I attribute my success to my family; they have always been my biggest cheerleaders and unwavering source of support.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is not to feel limited by the lack of people who look like you. Keep striving, focus on being the best you can be, and the opportunities and recognition will follow.
