Her Story

About Latosha

Latosha Thomas brings over two decades of experience in the beauty industry to her role as Program Director. With 21 years in the field, she began as a stylist behind the chair and gained early recognition through appearances on Fox 2 News demonstrating creative hair designs such as hats, backpacks, and sun visors. Thomas progressed through roles managing children's salons and working in senior living communities before entering education in 2015, where she taught the skills and trade of cosmetology. She advanced to lead educator and, for the past three years, has served as Program Director overseeing operations for the cosmetology, manicuring, and esthetician departments. In this capacity, Thomas develops curriculum and lesson plans, facilitates quarterly career fairs to build industry relationships, and guides adult learners through both professional training and daily life challenges. Her commitment to holistic student development is informed by her ordination as a minister, which enhances her ability to offer empathy and support.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say, definitely keep God first. And let Him guide you. Pray about everything, because that's what I do. Even when I have to make decisions at work, I pray about it, listen to my heart, and move forward. Don't regret anything, and don't look at life as a loss, but as a lesson, because we're always learning.
