Latoya Boddie is a private investigator and field supervisor with 2 years of experience in the field. She recently began her supervisor role just 3 weeks ago at her current company, and around the same time was hired by another major company. Latoya holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and paralegal studies from Monroe University, which she pursued with an initial goal of focusing on immigration law before transitioning into private investigation. She has obtained numerous certifications and attributes her success to inspiring professors from diverse backgrounds, including judges and district attorneys in New York City. She values the trust her job places in her judgment and enjoys her work so much that it does not feel time-consuming. In her personal life, she values meaningful relationships and the principle that it takes a village to raise a child.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my professors who inspired me quite a bit. Everyone was from all walks of life, cultures and so forth. I had some of the best professors in New York City. All the judges, the district attorneys, they all were there, so they inspired me as well.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't be afraid to or don't limit yourself, because whatever room you're in, you deserve to be there.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Follow your heart. Follow your dreams. Don't let anyone tell you that it's impossible. Because there is no limit for me. Sky's the limit, but no, there's no limit. Do what your heart desires, apply yourself, and have faith.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value the fact that I enjoy doing what I do. It doesn't feel time-consuming like most jobs where you struggle to wake up. I value the fact that my job trusts me and my judgment. In my personal life, I value meaningful relationships, the few that I have. It's super important to me because I'm a fan of it takes a village to raise a child.
