Her Interview
Ten minutes with LaToya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my military training. They always told us never give up, never quit. Those voices in my head from my sergeants helped me push through when I wanted to quit on my business.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My aunt told me that you can baffle them with brilliance, or bedazzle them with bullshit. That stuck with me.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Even when it's hard, don't quit, don't give up. Use positive affirmations and remember your why - for me, my children are my why.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is the lack of complete information and knowledge gaps. The biggest opportunity is AI and tools that cut time in half, like building a business plan in minutes instead of months.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is most important. My parents taught us that nothing's stronger than family, and to always resolve conflicts with siblings.
