LaToya Caldwell is a healthcare IT business analyst and project manager with over 15 years of experience in IT and public service roles. She began her career as a support specialist and advanced into project management, with seven years spent in public transportation before transitioning to healthcare IT. In her current role, she supports the heart and vascular, psychiatry, palliative care, and lab departments by conducting daily rounding, meeting with directors and managers, and ensuring computer issues are resolved promptly to avoid hindering patient care. Her main expertise lies in planning and project management. She earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from North Carolina A&T and a business administration degree from the University of Phoenix, and she is working to complete a doctorate in operational management and information technology. She maintains certifications in PMP, Lean Six Sigma, and Microsoft Office.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay humble. Always make sure that you can give your very best. Never stop learning, never be afraid to ask questions, and never underestimate the value that you bring to the table. Listen to understand and not just to respond.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Leadership issues from the top trickling down causing challenges in serving others with love; need for more calm, love, and kindness in the country and state.
