Her Story
About Latoya
I started out working in production and wanted to make a quality product. That led me to the quality side of things instead of just doing the work and packaging. I am a quality technician for Thorne, which makes all-natural supplements derived from natural sources. I love health and promoting people taking care of their bodies the natural way. My end goal is to take my psychology degree and help people heal from mental illness holistically because the stomach is the second brain and what we eat contributes to mental wellness.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Latoya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I made a lot of mistakes growing up and had to go out there and figure it out for myself. I don't just believe what I'm told; I go and verify things myself. All the mistakes I've made create the canvas of what I'm going to become.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be patient with yourself, learn as much as you can, don't be afraid to ask questions or make mistakes. Go beyond what they teach you and look into your products. Get to know your job and what you are inspecting thoroughly. Be okay with making mistakes as it's part of the learning process.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, healthy communication, and integrity are very important to me. Being able to express yourself without offending people and showing up as who you are.
