LaToya Wiggins is a business strategist, consultant, and founder of Ethel’s Gem General Consulting, LLC, where she helps entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and professionals unlock their skills, experiences, and stories and transform them into clear, purpose-driven, and profitable ventures. Known as “The Vault Keeper,” LaToya specializes in business strategy, resume refinement, systems development, AI and automation, and professional branding, with a faith-led approach that emphasizes clarity, structure, and sustainable growth.

A U.S. Army veteran with 13 years of service, including two tours in Iraq, LaToya brings discipline, leadership, and a service-centered mindset to every aspect of her work. Her background includes training in logistics, recruiting, branding, and organizational leadership, complemented by public-sector experience with the state of Massachusetts. Today, LaToya is a serial entrepreneur, consultant, Florida Notary Public, and proud mother of five, balancing business ownership with enrollment in an accelerated master’s program in Organizational Leadership. Through Ethel’s Gem General Consulting and her growing ecosystem of ventures—including wellness, property management, private car rental services, and digital education platforms like The Gem Vault—she continues to live out her mission: to refine, activate, and elevate the gems within others so they can shine in the marketplace and fulfill their purpose through service.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is simple: just do it. Never stop learning, and always keep an open mind. If you can think it, you can create it—every great achievement begins with a single thought. When you have an idea or an interest, take initiative and bring it to life. Growth comes from curiosity, persistence, and the courage to act.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The greatest opportunities lie in cultivating a positive, resilient mindset. The primary challenge is shifting perspectives that no longer serve growth or progress. Success in this field requires self-awareness, adaptability, and the willingness to change limiting beliefs in order to move forward.
