What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for continuous learning and growth.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received came from John Ledger, the most exceptional leader I’ve worked for. He told me to listen carefully to employees and customers—and then act on what they tell you. He put it bluntly: “Shut up and do what they tell you to do.” That philosophy was even displayed on the wall in our cafeteria at headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. John was a true visionary, and his simple approach drove extraordinary results: under his leadership, T-Mobile went from struggling in the market to leading in organic wireless growth for over a decade.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering this industry not to be afraid to speak up and make their voices heard in strategic conversations. It’s essential to assert yourself because your perspective matters. Bring your knowledge to the table, actively participate in discussions, and demonstrate your expertise—women add an invaluable viewpoint that strengthens decision-making and strategy in this field.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
For me, one of the biggest challenges in our field right now is the maturing and consolidation of the industry. Historically, we thrived as a disruptor, pushing boundaries and doing things differently. But as the industry consolidates, there’s a risk of losing that innovative edge and beginning to operate more like the incumbents we once challenged. I believe the industry benefits most when disruptors lead the way, and maintaining that disruptive mindset is both a challenge and an opportunity for continued growth and impact.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Loyalty is one of the most important values to me—sometimes even to a fault. I value it both in myself and in the teams I work with. At T-Mobile, for example, many of the people in our department have been with the company for over 15 years, and my boss has been here 24 years. That level of commitment reflects our passion for what we do and the loyalty we share, and those qualities are central to both my professional and personal life.
