Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a genuine curiosity about people and a commitment to building strong, meaningful connections over time, grounded in honesty and integrity. Persistence, along with a willingness to explore different roles and industries, has also played a critical role in shaping my career.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think try everything. When you're young in your career and your life, there's so many opportunities out there, so pursue those interests and connect with people in the spaces that you are passionate about. Whether it's a love of painting, pottery, running, reading - get yourself into a group. I'm huge on book clubs. I think to be curious, but also to take action. These days with social media and smartphones and laptops and tablets, sometimes people just saturate themselves with knowledge and learning, but they're not actually out in the world meeting people, having conversations, and building true and meaningful connections. Build your network and build meaningful connections, and be someone that is regarded as a person who helps others - that will follow you no matter what you end up doing in your life. With my daughter who's out in her career, she was scared to make job changes because she didn't want to be a job hopper. I told her, this is the time to make those changes, to go and explore different companies and different roles and find what fits for you. The worst thing somebody can do when they're young is to feel like they have to stay stuck. Build those connections and find a mentor, find people who can help you to grow your network.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is ensuring DE&I efforts are truly effective, which requires authentic leadership commitment and thoughtful representation of diversity across different countries and cultures. At the same time, managing remote workforce transitions presents both challenges and opportunities, especially around global recruiting, compliance, and payroll complexity.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

First and foremost is honesty and integrity. To me, your word is everything. I've drilled into my children that the truth will set you free. If you are feeling like you need to cover something up or hide the truth or spin the truth, you're already going down a bad path, so just stop and confront the issue head-on with honesty and integrity. If you've made a mistake, own up to it and ask for help. That trust is everything. If I believe your word, there's nothing that I won't do for you, and people who know me and come to me as a trusted resource for business or for health coaching know that I am going to be honest and transparent with them. In all of that, it has to be wrapped up in kindness. Those are the three biggest things for me - honesty, integrity, and kindness.
