About Laura
Laura Cantar is a Digital Account Executive at Integrated Direct Marketing, LLC, specializing in digital marketing and nonprofit fundraising. With a strong foundation in graphic design and digital media, she brings a creative and strategic approach to developing marketing initiatives that help organizations communicate effectively with their supporters. Her expertise spans digital marketing, email communications, social media, graphic design, visual design, and client engagement. Laura began her career in marketing shortly after earning her BFA in Digital Arts and Design from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus in 2015. She spent seven years with Active Web Group, where she developed extensive experience creating engaging email marketing campaigns and digital designs. Since joining Integrated Direct Marketing, LLC, she has expanded her capabilities across digital strategy, social media, and nonprofit fundraising while managing the agency's digital efforts and supporting business development through its monthly newsletter. Laura is recognized for her creativity, adaptability, and commitment to delivering high-quality work that aligns with client objectives. She credits the guidance of a college professor, who encouraged her to persevere in a role for at least one year, as an important influence on her career development. She also draws inspiration from her mother's exceptional work ethic and example. Outside of her professional pursuits, Laura has enjoyed crocheting for more than 20 years and is preparing to foster dogs through The Last Chance Rescue, combining her creative interests with her desire to make a positive difference.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mother, whose incredible work ethic and resilience have been a constant source of inspiration throughout my life. As a single mother raising our family while working, she demonstrated the importance of perseverance, responsibility, and determination. Her example taught me to work hard, remain committed to my goals, and approach challenges with strength and grace.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received came from one of my college professors, who encouraged me to stay in a role for at least a year, even if I did not enjoy the position, because the experience would ultimately be valuable. That advice has stayed with me throughout my career. Seven years after joining Active Web Group and giving the organization my all, I have found tremendous fulfillment at Integrated Direct Marketing, LLC. I believe there is something remarkable about demonstrating loyalty, perseverance, and commitment rather than immediately moving on when a job becomes challenging, a workload feels overwhelming, or you encounter a difficult manager. Staying the course, learning from challenges, and continuing to grow can lead to opportunities and experiences you may never have anticipated.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are hard work, perseverance, loyalty, and family. I attribute many of these values to my mother, whose incredible work ethic and dedication to raising our family while working taught me the importance of resilience, responsibility, and leading by example. I also value creativity and lifelong learning, which are reflected in my love of crocheting, a hobby I have enjoyed for more than 20 years thanks to my Nana. I continue to find inspiration through social media, where I learn new patterns and techniques from others who share my passion for the craft.
