Ten minutes with Laura
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God.
I believe God designs things for our lives, and at the same time, He has given us free will. Because of that, He works through the choices we make to lead us where those choices take us. We don’t always realize where our choices will lead. There were many years when I didn’t fully understand how God was working in my life, but looking back now, I can see it clearly.
I’ve always had a deep love for God and a desire to understand my purpose. In 1999, I prayed and asked Him to help me live my truth and to be who He created me to be. In 2007, I was given the opportunity to trust in what Jesus Christ did to pay for my sins instead of relying on anything I could do. When I believed in Jesus, I was forgiven and sealed with the Holy Spirit. That changed my heart, and the Holy Spirit began changing my life.
My life didn’t change dramatically overnight, but over time, I can see how God has transformed me and guided me. What I prayed for decades earlier, I am now living.
Not all success looks like success when you are going through change or moving in a new direction. Some answers to prayer involve a long process. What matters most is where we spend eternity. The Bible makes it clear that Jesus Christ died for our sins because we could never pay for them on our own. Salvation is not based on what we do, but on trusting what Jesus Christ has already done. It has nothing to do with religion.
As it says in 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV), “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
Believing and trusting in what Jesus Christ did for my salvation is what I attribute my success to. It’s the only success that will ever matter. True success is spending eternity in Heaven with God.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve received came from a movie called Remember the Goal. It was about a cross-country coach training a high school team. Her focus wasn’t on winning every race along the way - it was on winning the state championship.
That perspective really stayed with me. Not every stage needs to be a classified as a win or better than everyone else. Sometimes it’s about doing enough to stay in the game and keep your momentum going. When you have a clear picture of what you’re actually working toward, it helps you stay grounded and dedicated. It also keeps the direction in focus. For instance, successful companies often have a clear mission and vision statement that determine every decision they make.
For me, the biggest takeaway is to keep the goal in mind, stay consistent, and continue moving forward.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My first piece of advice for young women is to believe in what Jesus Christ did to forgive your sins and give you salvation. Depend on God for your provision, not people, jobs, or things. God created everything, sustains everything, and designed you to be the person you are.
When you believe and trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, you have a relationship with God and the assurance of eternity with Him in heaven. That is the only thing that truly matters when everything is said and done.
As far as work goes, I would encourage you to start with something you enjoy. When I began in internet marketing, the company that hired me was looking for people who could write emails and talk on the phone. Those are two of my favorite things so I applied and got the position.
Starting with work you like makes it easier to stay engaged, grow your skills, and recognize opportunities as they come. Over time, those small steps can lead to something much bigger.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunities right now are centered around the growing demand for high-quality, in-person experiences and a stronger focus on wellness in the U.S. marketplace.
We live in a very digital world, and while that has created a lot of convenience, it has also increased the desire for real-life interaction. People want to feel something real when they engage with a business. They’re looking for experiences that are thoughtful, intentional, and memorable.
At the same time, there is a noticeable shift toward health and wellness. Consumers aren’t just looking to enjoy themselves—they want to feel good and be healthier while doing it. That combination is creating new opportunities for businesses that can offer both a meaningful experience and products that support well-being.
In my field, that shows up through things like custom bottled water and wellness products. These are simple, tangible ways businesses can elevate how they connect with people—both in how they are experienced in person and how those experiences carry into their brand overall.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my work, I focus on three core values: quality first, a customer-focused experience, and being a reliable local partner. Everything I do through 416 Sales is built around those principles. I believe that when you prioritize quality and are intentional about how people experience your business, it creates trust and long-term relationships.
In my personal life, my foundation is loving God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. That shapes how I make decisions, how I treat others, and how I approach both life and business.
