She began her tenure with the company four years ago as a part-time driver transporting clients to and from programs, later advancing to transportation assistant and ultimately to her supervisory position two years ago. In her role, she oversees drivers and assistants, manages vehicle maintenance and issues, and ensures smooth daily operations. Cruz holds an associate's degree in music education from a community college and a bachelor's degree in science in journalism and communications from the University of Florida, completed in 2004 with a focus on video and radio production as well as broadcasting. She attributes her success to consistently striving to do her best in every position, embracing new challenges, and committing to ongoing personal and professional growth. Cruz values honesty and treating others as she would like to be treated, and she advises young women entering the field to stay organized, plan daily tasks, learn from failures, ask questions, seek help, and continue learning.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Laura

01What do you attribute your success to?

I try to do the best I can in every position and grow within a company or as a person. I challenge myself with different roles. It's just a part of life, growing and learning every day.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You can only control what you say or do. You can't control what others are gonna do. Let them, document everything, and eventually things will fall into place.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Need to be organized. Plan every day, write down what needs to be done. Don't be afraid to fail. You learn from your failures. Ask questions. Ask for help. And continue growing. There's always so much to learn.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty. Treat those as you would like to be treated.
