Her Story
About Laura
I earned my bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Arkansas in just two years, an accomplishment that laid the foundation for my career in retail. I began my career at Walmart Inc., where I completed GAP training and gained valuable experience in merchandising and supplier negotiations.
Five years ago, I founded Dubed Enterprises to help suppliers grow their businesses with Walmart and Sam's Club. More recently, I co-founded Grow Local Coffee, an initiative dedicated to helping local coffee roasters expand into national retail.
My greatest professional achievement has been building multiple successful businesses that align with my passions and values. Entrepreneurship has given me the opportunity to create my own path, work with people I genuinely enjoy, and build a career with the flexibility and purpose that matter most to me.

Ten minutes with Laura
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God, a commitment to continual self-reflection, and a desire to use my work to serve a greater purpose. I believe that when you know who you are, stay true to your values, and focus on making a meaningful impact, success becomes a byproduct rather than the goal.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best pieces of career advice I've ever heard came from Dr. Becky Kennedy, who shared a lesson from her second-grade teacher: "If something feels too hard to start, it just means the first step isn't small enough." That mindset has helped me build businesses, tackle big goals, and remember that every accomplishment starts with one manageable step.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take the risk and go for it. As a mother of four, I encourage new mothers to follow your heart if you have an idea and a dream, you can do it, and you don't need somebody else to tell you you can do it. Control your time and make the life that works for you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge and opportunity is that there are so many good emerging brands that get overlooked because they don't know how to scale at retail or contact a buyer. I love discovering those hidden gems, helping them scale, and creating opportunities for them to earn a place on store shelves.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, honesty, and consistency. I believe in doing the right thing, working hard, and following through on my commitments, even when no one is watching.
