Her Story
About Laura
Laura Hendley is a healthcare professional with more than 17 years of experience in management, leadership, and business development, including the past three years specializing in fertility and women’s health. Inspired by her own experience with infertility, she transitioned her career into the fertility field, combining her professional expertise with a deeply personal understanding of the patient journey. That experience also led her to create, host, and produce the Fertile-ish Podcast, where she uses honest conversations, education, and shared experiences to help others feel more informed and supported as they navigate infertility and family building.
Laura currently serves as Senior Manager of Commercial & Patient Engagement at Femasys, where she focuses on expanding access to innovative fertility and women’s health solutions. Her work includes provider education and engagement, patient support initiatives, strategic partnerships, commercial development, and collaboration with OB/GYN and fertility practices across the country. She also represents Femasys at leading women’s health and reproductive medicine conferences and industry events.
She credits much of her professional growth to exceptional mentorship and the unwavering support of her husband and daughter. Throughout her career, she has remained grounded in the values of loyalty, tenacity, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to improving the experience of those navigating fertility care.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Laura
01What do you attribute your success to?
Laura attributes her success to the incredible mentors who have guided and encouraged her throughout her career, both personally and professionally. Their insight, support, and belief in her potential helped her grow in ways she once only dreamed possible. She also credits her husband and daughter, whose unwavering support has given her the confidence and encouragement to pursue her goals and continue striving for professional growth.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to stay curious, remain open to learning, and never underestimate the value of meaningful relationships. Throughout my career, mentors have encouraged me to pursue opportunities that challenged me, trust my abilities, and continue growing both personally and professionally. Their guidance taught me that success is not achieved alone. It is built through strong relationships, a willingness to learn, and the courage to keep moving forward.
I have also learned the importance of surrounding myself with people who believe in me. The unwavering support of my husband and daughter has given me the confidence to pursue my goals, take on new challenges, and continue striving for professional growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best advice I would give to young women is not to wait until they feel completely prepared or 100% qualified before pursuing an opportunity. Some of the best opportunities come before we feel fully ready, and growth often happens when we step outside our comfort zones, trust our abilities, and take the chance. Stay curious, remain open to learning, build meaningful relationships, and have the courage to pursue your dreams.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Even in 2026, one of the biggest challenges we still face in women’s health is a lack of understanding, and that’s especially true when it comes to fertility. We’ve made tremendous progress, but there is still so much work to be done.
Infertility is more than a medical diagnosis. It can impact nearly every aspect of a person’s life: emotionally, physically, financially, and even within their relationships. Yet unless someone has experienced it personally, it can be incredibly difficult to understand what that journey actually looks and feels like.
I would love to see us continue moving toward a world where there is greater awareness and understanding of infertility, less stigma surrounding it, and more compassion for the people experiencing it. That includes not only improving access to fertility education and care, but also teaching people how to better support someone they love who may be struggling to build their family.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Loyalty is probably one of the most important values to me, both personally and professionally. I am incredibly loyal to the people I care about, the people who have invested in me, and the people and organizations I believe in. Relationships mean a lot to me, and I never take for granted the people who have supported me along the way.
Tenacity is also a huge part of who I am. I have always been someone who, when I believe in something, will find a way to make it happen. I may have to change direction, learn something new, or try a completely different approach, but I don’t give up easily.
And camaraderie is really important to me. I love being part of a team where people genuinely enjoy working together, support one another, celebrate each other, and want to see each other succeed. I think some of the best things happen when you surround yourself with good people who believe in what they’re doing and believe in each other.
For me, it really comes down to being loyal to your people, continuing to show up even when things are hard, and bringing people along with you.
