Her Interview
Ten minutes with Laura
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my ability to remain kind, resilient, and focused on helping others. Throughout my career and personal life, I have continued to prioritize service, compassion, and treating people with respect, even while navigating significant personal, educational, and professional challenges.
My faith and commitment to personal growth have also been important sources of strength for me. I continue to learn, adapt, support the people around me, and move forward despite setbacks. I believe that my willingness to remain positive, help others, and continue growing has played an important role in my success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering customer service and related fields to remain kind, authentic, and genuinely committed to helping others. Customer service should be about understanding people, listening to their needs, and creating meaningful solutions—not simply completing a transaction or making a sale.
I would also encourage the next generation to keep learning, ask for help when they need it, and remain open to growth and change. Difficult seasons or setbacks do not have to define your future. My own journey has taught me that resilience, compassion, and a willingness to keep moving forward can create opportunities even when the path does not unfold exactly as planned.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges for me is finding a customer-service opportunity that truly aligns with my strengths and my desire to help people, rather than placing the primary emphasis on sales. I am looking for work where I can use my experience in customer service, technical support, communication, and problem-solving to make a meaningful difference in customers' experiences.
At the same time, I see a significant opportunity in bringing empathy, patience, communication skills, and a people-centered approach to an organization. My extensive experience allows me to remain calm under pressure, de-escalate difficult situations, learn new systems, and help customers feel heard and valued. I want to contribute those strengths in a role where exceptional customer experience is genuinely valued.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are kindness, love, unity, compassion, faith, service to others, resilience, and setting a positive example for my family.
I believe we should treat people with kindness rather than responding to hurt or negativity with more hurt. I try to approach both my professional and personal relationships with compassion and respect. I also believe that success should not be measured only by professional accomplishments, but by the positive impact we have on the people around us and the lives we are able to uplift.
