Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my entire journey through the school of hard knocks, working my way from the bottom to the top. I didn't finish college because I had to take on adult responsibilities really young after my mother's car accident, but if I didn't have that experience, and that grit, and that resilience, and perseverance, I wouldn't be here today. So while I didn't finish college, I had to really, really work to get where I am, which makes me proud. I started at the bottom, so I know what those positions feel like, and that gives me empathy for all levels because it really does take everyone to achieve success. I've had four promotions with my current company over 14 years, including two promotions within just the past year, and last year I received the Presidential Award. What made that award especially meaningful is that I learned my mother, father, and grandfather had also won that same award, and since my mom passed away when I was very young, it was a really special moment to share that recognition with her memory.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that success is earned through persistence, dedication, and a willingness to continuously grow. I’ve learned that you can work your way to the top by staying focused, maintaining a strong work ethic, and embracing every opportunity to learn and improve. This mindset has shaped my approach to my career, reminding me that long-term success is built through consistency, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay with it and never give up. Challenges and setbacks are part of the journey, but perseverance, resilience, and a strong belief in your abilities will carry you forward. Trust yourself, keep learning, and remain committed to your goals success comes to those who persist.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge and opportunity in healthcare right now is that the field really needs help and support. I love making an impact because healthcare really needs it right now. My work allows me to strategize on opportunities and focus on how we can make a local community impact across the country. What makes this especially meaningful is my unique position where I work with both healthcare providers and health insurance companies, so we have a unique perspective because we partner with both of them. This allows us to think about how both organizations can grow through our partnership and create meaningful change in communities nationwide.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my work, I value making an impact and being there for everyone, because healthcare really needs all the help it can get right now. I love the fast-paced nature of my work and getting to meet a lot of people, and I have empathy for all levels of the organization because I started at the bottom and know what those positions feel like. I believe it really does take everyone to achieve success. Outside of work, I love being outdoors, whether that's at the beach or in the mountains. I love to travel and spend time with family and friends, and I'm an avid sports fan. I'm also involved in community outreach through my church, Faith Community Fellowship, and I appreciate that my company has a whole division called Clearative Cares that focuses on missions and charity events, so I get to participate in giving back.
