01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to pursue work that I genuinely love because we spend such a significant portion of our lives working. I believe it is important to choose a path that not only brings personal fulfillment but also allows me to contribute something meaningful beyond myself. Even the smallest efforts can create a positive impact, and finding ways to help others through my work has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to believe in their abilities, recognize their value, and confidently advocate for the opportunities they deserve. It is important to pursue continuous learning, gain as much knowledge and experience as possible, and be willing to start at the beginning while building a strong foundation for long-term success. If you are passionate about your work, stay committed, work hard, and trust the process of growth. Most importantly, have confidence in yourself and never hesitate to step forward, share your perspective, and pursue your goals with determination.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the continued evolution of the English language and the responsibility of ensuring that writing remains accurate, clear, and effective while adapting to these changes. As an editor, I recognize the importance of staying informed about shifts in language, including the growing use of inclusive pronouns and evolving communication styles. I also see this as a meaningful opportunity to support positive change by helping writers create content that is both respectful and accessible while maintaining their authentic voice and message.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are empathy, kindness, and service. I approach every project with the goal of understanding what my clients are looking for and ensuring their authentic voice is reflected in the final work. I believe that meaningful contributions can come in many forms, whether through professional support or by helping others in small ways, including providing pro bono services when possible. I strive to carry forward the kindness and compassion my father demonstrated throughout his life by treating others with care, respect, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
