Her Story
About Laura
I've been working in a traditionally male field for 27 years, with extensive experience in asset protection. For the past 3 years, I've been coaching with a specialized program, and for the last year and a half, I've been working with a partner in my coaching business. My focus is on women's empowerment. I help clients identify what doesn't serve them, release it, and create their lives by design. What drives me is watching people live their lives out in a manner that they dream of, taking the reality that they're in and creating something so much more for themselves. Being able to watch that from the sidelines, knowing I had input and influence, is my most notable professional achievement. I have a college background in psychology, which I completed in 1997. I approach everything with an open mind, believing there is always a way to help someone because there are resources we haven't thought of yet. I've never been in a situation where there weren't avenues or options, even if I had to create them myself.

Ten minutes with Laura
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a personal belief that I will figure out a way. I don't doubt my capabilities to help someone, because there's resources we haven't thought of yet. I approach everything with that open mind, like there is a way, you know, and there always is. I've never been in a situation where there weren't avenues or options, even if I had to create them myself.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I ever got was to do what you absolutely love. Like, what would you do for free? That's what I get to do. I also love it when people doubt me, because it makes me want it more.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Trust your gut. That will lead you to what you're supposed to do with yourself, with your life, what you want out of life. And nothing will really stop you, accept you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
It's difficult when people come to you hopeless, when you see so much potential. To get them over that hump of believing it for themselves, I believe it for them all day long, but when they believe it for themselves, that's when it cracks the shell. So in the beginning, they have to go through it, and you have to watch them go through it, which is sometimes difficult. But we know it lives on the other side, so that's the excitement.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
It would be honesty. Honesty with yourself first, because you can't make any changes to your life if you don't see it for what it really is.
