Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is twofold. First, focus on one thing and be the best at it—especially in tech, where there’s always something new to chase, focusing allows others to seek you out for your expertise. Second, find sponsors, not just mentors—people who will advocate for you and help showcase your skills.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to find your focus and, equally important, find your tribe. As you grow professionally and personally, having a supportive network is essential. This includes people in your personal life—family or neighbors who can help with children or aging parents—and colleagues at work who can mentor you, advocate for you, and help you achieve your goals.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in IT is its constant change—today it’s AI, tomorrow it will be something new—and making decisions that impact others becomes more complex in senior roles. The biggest opportunity is shaping the customer experience, creating solutions and experiences that don’t yet exist.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my personal life, the value I hold most dear is loyalty—being committed to my family and doing right by them. Professionally, I prioritize doing things well and delivering work that truly serves my customers, whether internal or external. Empathy guides this approach, helping me understand how my work impacts others and how I can best support them.
