About Laura
Laura Swann is the Pastor over the women at Family of Faith Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where she has served since 2010. A graduate of Karis Bible College in Woodland, Colorado, Swann brings decades of experience in women's ministry, including leading a Bible study for women for 21 years and serving as a district pastor at Evangel World Prayer Center for five years. She also contributed to Adult Teen Challenge for four years, ministering to women, and spent seven years traveling to Thailand to conduct women's conferences and support sex trafficking rescue efforts through the Tamar Center. Earlier in her career, Swann worked as a wedding coordinator. She attributes her success to hard work and the encouragement of mentors who supported her despite challenges faced by women in ministry. Swann emphasizes authenticity, integrity, character, and a genuine care for people, values that guide her in encouraging women to flourish and thrive in their callings.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Hard work and having men who poured into me and encouraged me despite challenges for women ministers. Being authentic and caring about people.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If you do what you love, then it's not work. Love what you do and love people so they flourish and thrive.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Develop thick skin and roll things off your back. Keep doing what God has called you to do. Be authentic, be yourself, stay in your lane.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Authenticity is key as people can tell when you are fake. There is a changing of the guard in ministry. Women need to support and build each other up.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Hard work, putting love into whatever you are doing, integrity, character, and family.
