Her Story

About Laura

I believe words matter—because they shape how we see ourselves, how we lead, and how we serve.

My passion is helping people find the clarity and courage to communicate what’s truly on their hearts, especially when that message is rooted in faith, purpose, and service. I’ve spent decades working in brand communications, and if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this: the most powerful leadership doesn’t come from polished pitches or perfectly curated personas—it comes from authenticity, compassion, and a deep understanding of who you are called to serve.

I am especially passionate about encouraging women to lead boldly without apology—bringing their full selves, their values, and their faith into the work they do every day. For too long, many leaders have been taught to separate belief from business, heart from strategy, and purpose from profit. I help bridge that gap by showing what’s possible when clarity, confidence, and compassion guide both communication and decision-making.

At the core of everything I do is connection—real, human connection. Whether through speaking, writing, coaching, or conversation, my work is about creating space for reflection, growth, and meaningful impact. I believe leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room, but about being present, intentional, and willing to lead with integrity—even when it takes courage.

My greatest fulfillment comes from watching others step into alignment with who they truly are, communicate with confidence, and lead in a way that leaves people better than they found them. That kind of leadership doesn’t just build businesses—it builds trust, community, and legacy.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of faith, relationships, and a willingness to stay curious and evolve.

My faith has been my anchor. It has guided my decisions, shaped how I treat people, and reminded me that success isn’t just about growth or recognition—it’s about impact, integrity, and service. When I’ve faced uncertainty or transition, faith has helped me trust the process even when the path wasn’t clear.

Relationships have been the foundation of everything I’ve built. I’ve never believed in chasing transactions; I believe in cultivating trust. The opportunities that have mattered most in my life and business came through meaningful conversations, generous collaboration, and showing up with genuine care for others.

And finally, I’ve remained curious. I don’t cling to outdated methods or familiar titles. I learn, I adapt, and I’m not afraid to rethink how things are done—whether that’s embracing new technology, refining my message, or challenging old narratives about leadership and success. That openness has allowed me to grow without losing who I am.

Success, to me, isn’t accidental. It’s built one intentional conversation, one values-based decision, and one courageous step at a time.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was this: Be who you are, not who you think you need to be to succeed.

For a long time, I believed professionalism required polishing away parts of myself—my faith, my compassion, my conversational style. But the moment I stopped trying to fit someone else’s mold and started leading from my values, everything changed. My work became more meaningful, my relationships stronger, and the right opportunities began to find me.

That advice taught me that clarity creates confidence, authenticity builds trust, and success follows when you stop performing and start leading from who you truly are.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Lead with who you are, not who you think you should be.

This field will tempt you to chase trends, mimic voices, and measure your worth by visibility or speed. Don’t. Get deeply clear on your values, your strengths, and the kind of impact you want to make—and let those guide every decision you take. Skills can be learned. Integrity, empathy, and discernment must be practiced.

Build relationships before you build a brand. Listen more than you speak. Ask good questions. Trust is your greatest asset, and it’s built slowly, through consistency and care.

And don’t be afraid to bring your faith, your compassion, and your humanity into your work. They are not liabilities; they are differentiators. The world doesn’t need more polished voices—it needs grounded leaders who know who they are and why they lead.

Success comes not from trying to impress everyone, but from serving the right people well and being willing to grow along the way.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Biggest Challenges

1. Noise Over Authenticity

We’re swimming in content and messages, yet people are starving for real connection. The temptation is to chase trends or copy formulas—only to end up sounding like everyone else. The real challenge is standing out without selling your soul.

2. Balancing Technology with Humanity

AI and new tools are changing how we communicate—but they can also make interactions feel robotic if misused. Many leaders struggle to leverage technology without losing heart in their message.

3. Confidence Gaps (Especially for Women Leaders)

Even highly capable women often underestimate their voice or impact, waiting to be “ready enough” before they speak up. That hesitation costs visibility, opportunity, and influence.

4. Faith Integration in Leadership

For those leading with faith, the challenge isn’t faith itself—it’s how to integrate values into business in a way that’s confident and respectful of diverse audiences, not diluted or compartmentalized.

Biggest Opportunities

1. Demand for Relational Leadership

People are done with transactional leadership. There’s a hunger for leaders who communicate with empathy, clarity, and depth. You are uniquely positioned to meet that need.

2. Strategic Use of AI

AI isn’t replacing communicators—it’s amplifying them. When used thoughtfully, AI can turn expertise into scalable engagement, curate ideas faster, and free space for high-touch strategic work.

3. Purpose-Driven Branding Is Becoming the Standard

Clients and audiences now expect brands to lead with purpose and clarity—not just products or services. This shift elevates leaders who can articulate impact over hype.

4. Cross-Platform Thought Leadership

There’s more room than ever for multi-platform voices—podcasts, LinkedIn, short-form video, live workshops, community spaces. Leaders who can translate consistent voice across mediums build trust—and market leadership—faster.

The Throughline?

Success in this field right now isn’t about shouting louder. It’s about leading clearer, connecting deeper, and communicating with courage and compassion. When you bring both heart and strategy to your message, you ride the wave of change instead of being overwhelmed by it.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important in my life are faith, integrity, compassion, and connection.

Faith is my foundation. It guides my decisions, grounds me in purpose, and reminds me that my work is ultimately about service—not ego or recognition. It helps me lead with humility, courage, and trust, especially when the path forward isn’t clear.

Integrity shapes how I show up—doing what’s right even when it’s uncomfortable, keeping my word, and leading in a way that aligns with my beliefs. Success means very little to me if it requires compromising who I am.

Compassion is essential, both in leadership and in life. People are complex, and everyone carries unseen challenges. I believe the most effective leaders listen deeply, create space for others, and lead with empathy while still maintaining clarity and boundaries.

And connection ties it all together. I value real relationships, meaningful conversations, and building trust over time. Whether in business or life, connection is where growth, impact, and lasting success truly begin.
