What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to intentionally making it a daily priority to be a positive role model for my children. In everything I do, I strive to lead by example through hard work, integrity, and thoughtful decision-making. I am mindful that, over time, my children may not remember every word I say, but they will remember my actions and the example I set.
Before making decisions, I often reflect on how my choices will be perceived by them in the future and whether those choices will guide them toward making sound decisions in their own lives. This perspective keeps me accountable and motivated to consistently model the values I want them to carry forward.
Ultimately, my success is driven by my commitment to being a strong role model. Everything I achieve is not just for me—it is for my children and the example I leave behind for them.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is that if you are going to dedicate yourself to a job every day, it should be something you genuinely enjoy—something that does not make it difficult to get out of bed each morning. That advice has truly shaped my perspective.
I can confidently say that I feel exactly that way about my work. By the end of the weekend, I often find myself looking forward to Monday. I wake up energized and eager to begin the week. Working remotely, managing multiple screens, and navigating complex cases is something I genuinely enjoy.
What I find most fulfilling is the opportunity to solve problems and overcome challenges for my clients. When I am able to push through obstacles and make progress on a case, it is incredibly rewarding. At the end of the day, knowing that I have helped someone—often a complete stranger—simply because I care about achieving a better outcome for them brings a deep sense of purpose and satisfaction to my work.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is simple: do not give up. The journey may be challenging, and there will be moments that test your strength and resilience. However, the greatest limitations are often the ones we place on ourselves. With determination, confidence, and perseverance, you are fully capable of achieving your goals.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the primary challenges for aspiring paralegals is gaining entry into the field. Many law firms rely heavily on referrals and word-of-mouth hiring, which can make it difficult for candidates without established connections to secure an opportunity. As a result, obtaining as much relevant experience as possible is essential. This may include formal education, such as earning a paralegal certification, as well as pursuing internships or other hands-on training opportunities.
With experience, however, the career path becomes increasingly rewarding. Advancing to a senior paralegal role opens the door to greater responsibility, higher earning potential, and increased professional recognition. In addition to technical expertise, senior paralegals are often looked upon as leaders within their teams, providing guidance and support to colleagues while contributing meaningfully to the overall success of the firm.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, loyalty, and consistency are the guiding principles that shape both my professional and personal life. I prioritize transparency and integrity in all interactions, ensuring that colleagues, clients, and those around me can depend on me with confidence. By honoring my commitments and maintaining a consistent, results-driven approach, I cultivate strong relationships, deliver reliable outcomes, and contribute to a culture grounded in trust and mutual respect.
