She has managed significant client and workforce portfolios while serving as a strategic link between organizational leadership, clients, and frontline teams.

Throughout her career, Laura has distinguished herself through people-centered leadership, strategic communication, and operational discipline. At Spherion Utah, she served as an On-Premise Manager/Account Manager, overseeing client relationships and workforce operations, while her previous role as Senior District Operations Manager at ABM Industries involved responsibility for the operational and financial success of a Utah portfolio. Her professional philosophy emphasizes empowering employees with information and ownership rather than relying on micromanagement, while ensuring that teams and processes remain effective even after a leadership transition.

Through her volunteer work with People Helping People of Utah, she coaches and mentors individuals as they identify transferable skills, strengthen career materials, navigate the job market, and pursue improved employment opportunities. She credits her grandmother's example and strong work ethic as major influences on her own success and places a high value on integrity, relationships, family, and healthy boundaries. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Laura brings a relationship-oriented and inclusive perspective to leadership, combining operational expertise with a genuine commitment to developing people and creating sustainable professional success.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Laura

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong work ethic I learned from my grandmother. As a second-generation family member, I was inspired by her journey from Spain through Cuba and by the sacrifices she made to support her family through various jobs. Her example taught me to work hard, remain committed to my family, and approach opportunities with determination and resilience.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to not be afraid to show my work and to stand out. I believe it is important to make my contributions visible, demonstrate the value I bring, and have the confidence to distinguish myself through the quality of my work and relationships.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to do extensive research and understand the opportunities available to them before limiting their career options. Attend professional events, build relationships, and network as much as possible. Just as importantly, put yourself first by establishing healthy boundaries. Professional success should complement your life rather than require you to sacrifice your well-being and personal priorities.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and boundaries are the values that matter most to me. I believe integrity is fundamental to building lasting relationships and earning trust, while healthy boundaries allow me to maintain balance between professional excellence and the people and priorities that matter most in my personal life.
