Lauren Billings is a logistics and compliance leader whose career reflects resilience, growth, and a deep commitment to protecting people and businesses in an ever-evolving supply chain industry. With more than 13 years of experience, she serves as Director of Compliance and Security at Yellow Diamond Logistics, where she leads TSA-accredited air cargo compliance, driver vetting, and risk-management programs that safeguard high-value freight and customer trust.
Lauren’s path into leadership was built through hands-on experience across operations, compliance, and customer management roles within some of the top-ranking global freight forwarding companies. After joining Yellow Diamond Logistics in 2024, her expertise quickly positioned her to lead the company’s compliance strategy, where she now helps guide secure growth while mentoring and empowering her team.
Building upon a strong compliance foundation established by her mentor and friend, Hannah Wilson, Lauren now leads the continued execution and evolution of the program, helping sustain its longstanding record of successful TSA audits and operational excellence.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, continuous learning, and the people who invested in me along the way. Logistics is an industry that demands adaptability, accountability, and trust, and I’ve been fortunate to learn from strong mentors and teams who emphasized doing things the right way, even when it’s difficult. I believe success comes from staying curious, building strong processes, and leading with integrity.
Equally important has been my role as a mother, which has strengthened my ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and lead with empathy. I’m also deeply grateful for my family support system — especially my better half, Joe — whose encouragement and partnership have allowed me to pursue my career while staying grounded in what matters most. Together, those experiences have shaped both my leadership style and my commitment to protecting people, freight, and the organizations I serve.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was to stay adaptable and never let setbacks define your direction. Careers rarely follow a straight path, and growth often comes from unexpected challenges. As a working mother, I’ve learned that adaptability isn’t just a professional skill — it’s a daily practice that requires resilience, prioritization, and perspective. Learning to embrace change and keep moving forward has shaped both my professional journey and my leadership philosophy.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to never believe you have to choose between being a present mother and having a successful career. You can do both. I’m especially passionate about supporting working mothers — especially single working mothers — because the challenges faced are often unseen and deeply underestimated. Balancing career growth, family responsibilities, and personal resilience requires strength, discipline, and grace.
As a mother of four children, ranging from 8 months to 11 years old, I show up every day committed to giving my best both professionally and personally. Even during difficult seasons, I learned that setbacks do not define your future. You can rebuild, grow, and create opportunities that are even stronger than before.
My advice is simple: don’t settle for mediocrity. Continue striving for growth, seek out mentorship, and build a network of supportive women who understand your journey. When women support one another, we become stronger together — and that strength creates lasting impact both at home and in our careers.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The logistics industry is facing a dual challenge: managing increasing disruption while maintaining security and compliance standards. Global trade volatility, regulatory changes, and rising cargo fraud have shifted supply chains from operational functions into enterprise risk environments requiring stronger governance and oversight.
At the same time, technology presents a major opportunity. AI and advanced analytics are improving visibility, forecasting, and decision-making, allowing companies to respond faster to disruptions and operate more strategically.
The biggest opportunity moving forward is treating compliance not as a barrier, but as a competitive advantage that builds trust, resilience, and long-term success.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are integrity, accountability, resilience, and compassion. In my work, integrity means doing the right thing even when it’s difficult or unpopular, especially in an industry where trust and compliance are critical. Accountability ensures that decisions are made responsibly and that people feel supported while still holding high standards.
In my personal life, resilience and compassion guide how I show up as a mother and leader. Balancing career and family has taught me the importance of empathy, adaptability, and leading by example. I believe success is not just measured by outcomes, but by how we treat people, how we overcome challenges, and how we help others grow along the way.
