Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my success comes from my work ethic and my continuous learning. I'm constantly having my face in a book, learning something that will either help me or help my colleagues or my agents. I'm just constantly working towards getting better all the time. I never stop trying to improve and expand my knowledge so I can be more effective in what I do.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was 'Don't let anyone take your sparkle.' I know it sounds silly, but it works! No matter what I did, I was told don't let anyone take your sparkle, and I'm like, alright, you're right. It's advice that has stuck with me and helped me maintain my positivity and confidence throughout my career.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them, you know, never give up. There's gonna be some no's, there's gonna be people who try to knock you down, and just like I was told, keep your sparkle and keep pushing forward. Don't give up, no matter what challenges come your way. Stay determined and maintain that positive energy that makes you who you are.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I would say one of the biggest challenges right now is probably LMS learning. You know, we teach a whole classroom, and people are trying to find ways to learn without the trainer, trying to do it on the computer. So we're constantly trying to find value in that in-person learning versus, hey, let me just use a computer. That's probably one of our biggest challenges, overcoming that and just showing the value in training. It's about demonstrating why having a real person guiding you through the learning process is so much more valuable than just computer-based training.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My number one value is definitely quality. I always put quality work into everything that I do, whether it's in work, in projects that I do, or if it's at home and I'm working with my children on their therapies and whatever needs to get done. That's one of the biggest values that I have is quality there. And then probably dedication, you know, we try and have dedication through everything, try to instill that in my kids. Making sure that if you're gonna do something, we're dedicated to it from beginning to end, no matter what the result is. And then, yeah, just fun.
