I attribute my success to my ambition and drive. I like to do things to prove that I can to myself. I'm very driven. I also attribute my success to my family and friends and their support.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Figure out what you want to do and what you want to study before you go to school. Find a professor who specializes in that field so they can work with you.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There are a lot of opportunities in health policy in our federal government and locally, with causes involving AI, biotechnology, vaccines, and infectious diseases. The biggest challenge right now is funding cuts, which I was personally affected by, impacting work in academia, nonprofits, and government.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family, friends, hard work, honesty, integrity, and a dedication to global society, not just local.
