Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lauren
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work and a little luck. I'm a perfectionist and hard on myself, but others see my determination and execution. I try to be easy to work with in any scenario.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was from the principal who took a chance on me: 'don't think, just act.' As a perfectionist who overthinks, this helped me trust my gut and act ethically.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always continue to be a learner. Don't act like you know everything - be a sponge. Take in that there are people who've been doing this longer or have different skill sets, and you can always learn something from them.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenge is that training has shifted from one-off sessions to building real capability. People are time-constrained, lack follow-through, and we need to track whether skills are actually developed rather than just delivered. The opportunity is using tools like LMS and virtual training to reach global teams efficiently.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Working hard is key - I was raised that way and I'm okay not being the smartest but will outwork others. Teamwork is huge; I'm proud of my team and couldn't succeed without them. Leaving the space better than you found it is essential in both personal and professional life.
