What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my ability to approach complex challenges with strategic clarity and a commitment to meaningful impact. One of my proudest accomplishments was the opportunity to co-author a 10-year technology roadmap for the military, guiding funding priorities, vendor engagement, and long-term R&D initiatives while leading and supporting a team of 13. Additionally, during my time at Gallo Winery, I developed an efficient performance analytics module that streamlined multiple dashboards into a cohesive system, significantly improving speed, usability, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received came from my mentor, Erika Lopez, a leader in IT who has been a tremendous source of inspiration. She included me in her Women Leadership Group events and has continually provided guidance and advice, helping me navigate challenges, grow professionally, and seize opportunities for leadership development. Her mentorship has been instrumental in shaping my career trajectory.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women to take a seat at the table and not shy away from roles that may feel intimidating. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow, find what truly inspires you, and trust in your abilities. Confidence, curiosity, and persistence will open doors and help you make a meaningful impact in your career.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field is navigating the influx of ever-expanding and rapidly evolving technologies. While managing and analyzing increasing volumes of data can be complex, it also presents tremendous opportunities to drive innovation, make informed decisions, and create meaningful impact. Embracing these technological shifts allows us to stay ahead and leverage data in ways that were previously unimaginable.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are independence, curiosity, and balance. Growing up in a small town, I was drawn to the energy of city life and the opportunity to forge my own path. I prioritize wellness and mindfulness through yoga, Pilates, and dance, which help me stay centered and focused. On a personal note, my long-haired Chihuahua, Louie, brings joy and reminds me of the importance of nurturing connections and finding happiness in the little things.
