Her Story

About Lauren

I've spent about 15 to 16 years in healthcare, specifically healthcare tech and advanced primary care. I started right out of college running primary care clinics on the operations side after I didn't get into medical school. A physician I worked with on medical mission trips took me under his wing and mentored me, teaching me everything I know. I worked at Go Medical and Converging Health, and then We Care TLC, where I was Director of Client Services for my longest standing role. In that position, I supported all aspects of the client relationship, from onboarding new clients to analytic reporting to patient engagement and marketing strategies. I'm very much a keep-your-head-down, get-things-done person, and collaboration is really important to me. What I'm most proud of is building high rates of client satisfaction - our retention rate was 98% when I left my last role, and our client satisfaction scores were well above 95%, which is very high in our industry. Many of our clients stayed with us for 10-plus years. I recently moved to Michigan to be closer to family after living in the North Dallas, Texas area, and I'm 30 days into my new role. My focus has always been on the client-facing side in terms of the relationship, but also the internal operations and strategy, looking at how we operationalize client success and set up our teams for success.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm very much a keep-your-head-down, get-things-done person, and no job is too big. Collaboration is really important for me. What I'm most proud of is building high rates of client satisfaction - our retention rate when I left was 98%, and our client satisfaction scores were well above 95%, which is very high in our industry. Typically it's in the 80s, but with my particular book of business and my team, we were well in the 90s. I think that's an art, because no client thinks they are the same as the rest of our book of business, so it's really being a good listener and helping the client feel heard. I think that's a lost art sometimes today, because it's not just a one-size-fits-all. I think clients feel very appreciative when you come in with the solution they've purchased or invested in, but it's how you execute that solution with the fine details, customizing it to their company culture and their specific needs. I pride myself on being able to turn the hardest client issue or challenge into a win, and building systems - that gets overlooked a lot, but putting the operations piece in place took a lot of work.
