Her Story

About Lauren

With over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, I've developed a passion for digital marketing and strategic growth. My journey began with an internship at Priority Health, where I honed my skills in social media and digital marketing. I later transitioned to a specialist role on the provider side, executing emails and facilitating webinars with thought leadership, which helped me develop my expertise in digital marketing.

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with various clients and industries, including construction, furniture, and healthcare. Notably, I worked with S.A. Mormon and later returned to Priority Health, where I built on my experience and skills.

Currently, as VP of Strategic Marketing at Sequel Insurance Agencies powered by SIAA, I've successfully navigated my first year and continue to drive growth and marketing initiatives. My day-to-day work involves collaborating with agency partners, understanding their marketing needs, and developing strategic plans to help them achieve their goals. I've also played a key role in unifying our brands under a single house of brands, driving brand adoption and adaptation.

I thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, and I enjoy addressing requests and initiatives from agency partners and team members. With a strong background in digital marketing and strategic growth, I'm excited to continue making an impact in the insurance industry.

Ten minutes with Lauren

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the unwavering support and motivation of my family. They inspire me to push beyond my limits and strive for excellence every day. The desire to make them proud drives me to achieve more and pursue my goals with passion and dedication. Their love and encouragement have been a constant source of strength, empowering me to overcome challenges and stay focused on what's important.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to cultivate a strong network and nurture meaningful relationships. In the marketing and PR world, connections and collaborations are key to success. I've found that surrounding myself with people who are experts in their fields and who challenge me to grow has been invaluable. By doing so, I've not only expanded my knowledge and skills but also gained a supportive network that helps me stay ahead in my career. Building relationships and seeking out mentors who can offer guidance and wisdom has been instrumental in my professional growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering the insurance industry, I offer these words of encouragement: don't be intimidated by the predominantly male-dominated landscape. Your voice and perspective are desperately needed. I urge you to be bold, seek out opportunities, and use your voice to contribute to the industry. Surround yourself with knowledgeable leaders who can mentor and guide you as you grow in your career.

Your unique viewpoint and approach will bring valuable insights to the table. It's essential that women lift each other up, supporting and empowering one another to shatter the glass ceiling and drive industry diversification. I want to emphasize that your voice truly matters, and I encourage you to make your presence known.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

In my field, two significant challenges I face are time and resources. With a constant influx of tasks and priorities, finding effective ways to manage my time and allocate resources is a daily hurdle.

However, I believe the biggest opportunities lie in embracing emerging technologies, particularly AI. By leveraging AI tools, we can streamline content creation, enhance creative outputs, and boost efficiency. I see immense potential for growth and innovation in this space, and I'm excited to explore ways to harness AI's capabilities to drive success in our marketing efforts.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

For me, the most important values in both my work and personal life are authenticity, kindness, and integrity. I believe that approaching every interaction with the assumption of good intentions is crucial. We all strive to do our best, and a little understanding and empathy can go a long way.

In addition to kindness, I value honesty and a proactive attitude. I look for individuals who take ownership of their work, are driven to see it through, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. By embracing these values, I believe we can build strong relationships, achieve our goals, and create a positive impact in our personal and professional lives.
