Lauren Loughney

Lauren Loughney, RDH, is a healthcare professional and consultant with over a decade of experience spanning dental hygiene, education, and health IT. She began her career as a clinician and faculty member, educating future dental hygienists at Fortis Institute, before transitioning into the technology side of healthcare. Lauren’s work bridges clinical expertise with software implementation and training, helping dental organizations streamline workflows and elevate patient care through digital solutions.
Her experience includes key roles as a Certified Dentrix Enterprise Trainer with MedSys Group and a Dental Software Trainer at DSN Software, where she partnered with practices nationwide to improve their practice management systems, train teams, and ensure efficient adoption of new technologies. In each role, Lauren has been recognized for her ability to simplify complex systems, build rapport with teams, and support lasting improvements.
Currently serving as a Consultant with ProspHire, Lauren continues to help healthcare clients develop smart, strategic solutions that enhance operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University and brings a human-centered approach to every project. With a passion for education, collaboration, and meaningful change, Lauren is committed to making healthcare systems work better for both providers and patients.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to determination and a genuine passion for what I do. Once I discovered what truly motivates me, I committed fully and let that drive guide my career. Doing what you love makes the hard work worth it.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to stay focused on your goals and gain as much real-world experience as possible. (Taking a few risks along the way) Every experience will open another door.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to seek out as many different opportunities as you can. Real-world exposure will build your confidence, sharpen your skills, and help you stand out in a competitive field. Be bold.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is building the right network and gaining meaningful exposure. Success often comes down to who you know and how visible you are within the industry. Establishing strong professional connections can open doors to new opportunities, collaborations, and growth.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me in both my work and personal life are enjoying what I do and being grateful for all that I have. I believe fulfillment comes from doing meaningful work and appreciating the journey along the way. Outside of work, my greatest interests are spending time with family, and friends—both of which keep me grounded and inspired.
