Ten minutes with Lauren
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would attribute my success to having a strong drive forward. Being willing to invest in the time that is required to train and learn and invest in the people you work with. Investing in your communication skills is also key. This is huge, especially in the IT industry. being you can't do this role without proper communication, verbal, written, you know, video, reading gestures.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Mentorship. Go get a mentor within the company, and if possible, outside the company as well. Mentorship is how you learn from experts. Mentorship is how you get guidance and coaching and recommendations on where you can take your journey next. Mentorship is also a bridge to other people in the network. Mentorship is always key. It's helpful to bounce ideas, run thoughts by people who are well-versed in the industry. I would not have gotten to where I am today without it.
