Lauren Ruotolo is a Content and Partnerships Executive specializing in women’s health and healthcare storytelling. She is passionate about translating complex healthcare topics into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with broad audiences. Throughout her career, Lauren has prioritized trust, inclusion, and a sense of fun—both in her professional work and personal life—while advocating for greater representation of people with disabilities in hiring and storytelling.
With nearly three decades of experience spanning women’s magazines and healthcare communications, Lauren has built a reputation for creating patient-centered, purpose-driven content. She worked at Hearst Magazines crafting audience-first stories that drove engagement across lifestyle and health categories, and at Johnson & Johnson, she executive produced the pandemic-era series Road to a Vaccine with Lisa Ling, bringing scientific progress and global health updates to millions. Most recently at Cure, Lauren led a digital transformation, producing over 100 live programs and expanding the organization’s social reach by 350%, positioning it as a leader in healthcare innovation and thought leadership.
Lauren attended Hofstra University, complementing her formal education with extensive internships and hands-on media experience. She serves on the boards of several women’s health organizations, including the Society for Women’s Health Research, and continues to mentor the next generation of professionals. My advice to young women entering this industry is to take your work seriously—health affects everyone, so your impact matters. Learn deliberately, don’t rush into everything, and remember not to take things personally.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field are navigating budget constraints and compliance issues, but there’s always opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare.

The values most important to me are integrity and honesty, and I prioritize trust, inclusion, and a sense of fun in both my work and personal life while advocating for greater inclusion of people with disabilities.
