About Lauren
Lauren Strain brings 15 years of experience to the hospitality and restaurant industry. She began her professional journey at age 14 and spent three and a half years as a culinary professional with Olive Garden, where she ran the kitchen, handled expo duties on busy shifts, and supported store operations across multiple locations in the Atlanta division. Strain currently works at a restaurant in her hometown as a wine cook, server, and caterer, helping with a diverse range of tasks that include management support and operations. She is enrolled at Georgia Southern University, working toward a bachelor's degree in psychology to complete prerequisites for medical school.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Just don't give up. Commit to it 100 percent and don't give up. Just be ambitious about it because there's always some hope.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just don't let it kill your smile. Always go into it and don't let it kill your smile. It can be a hard business and there are people who try to dim your light.
