Her Story
About Lauren
Lauren X is the owner and founder of Be Well Caldwell, a mental health practice located in West Caldwell, New Jersey. She launched her practice in 2018, though her involvement in the mental health field dates back to 2015. As a National Board Certified Counselor and licensed professional counselor, Lauren brings a strong educational foundation to her work, including a bachelor's degree in neuroscience from Drew University, a teaching certification from Caldwell University, and a master's degree in mental health counseling. Before establishing her practice, she served as an elementary school teacher in New Jersey. In addition to her clinical and administrative responsibilities, which include marketing, client intakes, billing, team consultations, and direct client care, Lauren volunteers as a moderator for an email listserv supporting therapists in Essex County. She is also actively involved with the Comfort Creature pet therapy organization and is passionate about the Seeing Eye Association. Lauren attributes her success to guidance from God and the support of family and friends, and she emphasizes values such as a strong work ethic, balance, and the interconnected care of body, mind, and soul.

01What do you attribute your success to?
God has navigated a lot of unknowns for me, and family and friends have supported me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Do what you love, as shown by my dance teacher who pursued her passion, and I now love what I do.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be true to yourself, believe in yourself, take care of yourself, and don't compete with anyone other than yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Overcoming stigma and shame around needing mental health support, and normalizing it through education.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Strong work ethic, taking care of body mind and soul as they are connected, and practicing balance in all things like exercise, food, and work.
