About Lauren

Lauren is a journalism and editorial professional based in the Toledo, Ohio area with experience spanning digital pop culture media and local publishing. She began her journalism journey in 2013 as a copy editor with The Independent Collegian, a student-run publication serving the University of Toledo community. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of Toledo.


Lauren has worked as an editor and writer within Valnet’s digital publishing ecosystem, including nearly four years at CBR, where she also led onboarding and training for new writers and supported teams through organizational changes. She currently works with Adams Street Publishing Company as an editorial and advertising assistant and contributes freelance writing across multiple local publications. She also writes for Game Rant and freelances in editorial support for Marquee Who’s Who. Known for editorial strategy and team leadership, Lauren is driven by purpose, growth, and a desire to create stability and opportunity for her family, while continuing to build meaningful work and expand her professional network.

Lauren attributes her success to perseverance, adaptability, and staying committed to building a career aligned with her values. She is strongly motivated by her daughter and family, and credits that sense of purpose with pushing her to rebuild and grow her professional path, including pursuing remote editorial work, stepping into leadership, and continuing to develop new opportunities.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Lauren values family, stability, independence, personal growth, and meaningful work. She prioritizes being present for her daughter, building security for her family, and pursuing opportunities that allow her to keep developing professionally while staying aligned with what matters most to her.
