Her Story
About Lauren
Lauren is an editorial and real estate professional based in the Toledo, Ohio area with experience spanning digital pop culture media and local publishing. She began her journalism journey in 2013 as a copy editor with The Independent Collegian, a student-run publication serving the University of Toledo community. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of Toledo.
Since 2022, Lauren has worked as an Editorial Freelancer for Marquis Who's Who, creating and copy editing content for print and online features with an exacting attention to consistency, accuracy, and house style. Her parallel tenure at CBR — where she rose to Senior Editor, then Anime Editor, while also serving as an Onboarding Specialist training the next generation of writers — sharpened her range across entertainment, culture, and digital content strategy. She has also contributed as a writer and editor for a Toledo-area publication, and currently serves as an editor with Static Media. Earlier in her career, she contributed to ProMedica's marketing communications team, where she helped develop the organization's internal style guide and managed a wide range of communications projects.
Known for her editorial strategy, Lauren founded Turnstile Editing with her husband in 2026, a boutique editorial practice built on a simple conviction: words deserve human attention. A committed advocate for human authorship in an age of AI, Lauren founded Turnstile's Allegation Protection™ service because writers deserve more than clean copy — they deserve an editorial partner who stands beside them when their authenticity is questioned. She works with authors and organizations across the country.
Also in 2026, Lauren pursued her real estate licensure through Hondros College of Business. She is now with The Fitch Group of Key Realty, where she helps clients write their next chapter through buying and selling homes in Northwest Ohio. Known for editorial strategy and team leadership, Lauren is driven by purpose, growth, and a desire to create stability and opportunity for her family, while continuing to build meaningful work and expand her professional network.
