Her Interview
Ten minutes with Laurie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say probably all my past lives, you know? It allowed me to go further than some people might, you know. I've talked to a lot of psychics, too, so they've given me a lot of information.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I have a friend who applied for a job I was hiring for. She had never really been an accountant but wanted to do it. I hired her, she was terrific and picked up everything quickly. We became good friends and I mentored her. She ended up having a really good career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
By being a consultant, and by working for a few people at a time, I could be so diverse in what I was doing. I'd go and I'd do accounting for one firm, and the other one would be completely different. I worked for almost every kind of company you could imagine.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Safety, truth, honesty, having stuff in common with people.
