I always showed up for everyone except myself. The only commitments I broke were my own. I had to start treating my own commitments like I had someone else's, and don't cancel.

Foley began her professional career in the cosmetics industry before transitioning into recruitment, where she built approximately 30 years of experience. Her recruiting career included work with a permanent placement firm owned by Manpower in Boston before she established BlackRock Staffing Group, a boutique recruiting firm she has operated for more than 20 years in the Greater Boston area. As Principal, she has provided customized recruiting services to clients and candidates, with experience spanning financial services, venture capital, private equity, law firms, executive support, and human resources. This extensive background gives her a strong understanding of career development, professional transitions, hiring, and the challenges individuals face when making important decisions about their working lives.
Following the loss of her husband after 47 years of marriage, Foley expanded her professional path into coaching, earning certifications in career and life coaching as well as training in areas including Myers-Briggs and health and life coaching. Her personal experience with bereavement has strengthened her commitment to helping widows and widowers navigate grief, family dynamics, rebuilding their lives, and returning to dating when they are ready. In addition to coaching adults through career and personal transitions, she mentors college students as they explore career paths and prepare for their professional futures. Through Laurie Foley Coaching, she combines decades of recruiting expertise with compassionate, practical guidance to help clients move forward with purpose and confidence.
