Her Interview

Ten minutes with Laurie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm very driven. My biggest joke is there's no shame in my game. I will randomly talk to anyone, even strangers. In my day job, if I walk into a university or campus and see a guy driving a Gator, I'll roll up and ask for the facilities guy by name to get in the door. I'm pretty good at making an impression, getting indoors, and just advertising my stuff and putting it out there in every shape, way, or form.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I think both in work and personal I'd say the golden rule, right? Try to treat others as you want to be treated. I try to be kind, as kind as you can be on a regular basis, because we never know what anybody else is dealing with. And you can like a perfect stranger, you could smile at them and no idea of how what kind of day they've had, but like just simply smiling or saying hi to somebody could really make a difference to them that day, so I feel strongly about that. I have a pretty strong work ethic.
