About Laurie

This led her to launch her company, focusing on helping clients with event logistics, aesthetics, and creating their vision for weddings and events. Laurie is a board member of Hill Country Women in Business and has earned awards for best event setups along with nominations in the wedding events industry. She attributes her success to her husband's support, slow growth through relationship building, and her attention to detail.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Laurie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would have to say my husband has helped me a lot. But a lot of it, I've just kind of grown slowly. Building relationships has helped me a lot. I started out just going on every event setup, just to meet people, and just keeping those connections. I'm a very detailed person. I pay attention to all the details, and nothing goes left unturned.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Well, I would just say to keep moving forward, even if it's baby steps. Just don't stop. If you encounter any type of challenges, just keep plowing through it, even if it's just little by little.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just to don't be scared to start. I mean, I think the hardest part is just to get started. And I would say don't be afraid to seek help or advice. I like to surround myself with people that I feel like are better than me, so I can learn from them. I've always done that. I do a lot of training, like workshops, things like that, anytime through our local chamber or professional organizations.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Time is the most valuable thing, but my faith is very valuable to me as well. And family is definitely my priority.
