Her Story

About Lauryn

I've always had a love for math, and I've always been a little more social than your average math lover, so financial advising was the perfect job to be flexible and be challenged. I focus on building quality relationships and helping others gain financial knowledge. My most notable professional achievement has been helping teenagers and young adults feel more confident about their math and science skills. I attribute my success to my endless list of mentors that have taught me so much along the way and gave me the confidence to take on my own business. At the end of the day, helping people is the business, so I do anything I can to see how you can make someone's life better. Integrity is a really big part of my business - being honest, being truthful, but also being honest with yourself and not eating two for others.

Ten minutes with Lauryn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my endless list of mentors that have taught me so much along the way and gave me the confidence to take on my own business. These mentors have been instrumental in helping me grow and develop the skills I needed to succeed in this field.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to always be a student. This mindset has helped me stay open to continuous learning and growth throughout my career, which is essential in the ever-evolving field of finance.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be bold and always ask questions. Take every opportunity to learn and grow. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and seek knowledge from those around you. The finance industry can be challenging, but being confident and curious will help you succeed.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Probably rejection. A lot of people are embarrassed to talk about money, and a lot of people have a hard time opening up or trusting someone with their finances, so you do face a lot of rejection. But at the end of the day, helping people is the business, so I do anything I can to see how you can make someone's life better.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is a really big part of my business. Being honest and being truthful are essential to me. But also, being honest with yourself is important - not just being honest with others, but making sure you're true to yourself as well. These values guide both my professional practice and my personal life.
