Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lauryn is a dedicated community leader and advocate for education and youth development. She serves as President of her son's high school PTSA and has held volunteer leadership positions with Girl Scouts at her daughters elementary school, while actively supporting Fairfax County initiatives benefiting students, families, and school transportation. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in integrity, accountability, service, and collaboration.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Lauryn enjoys reading, cultivating her personal library, caring for her exotic houseplants, and spending time with her two children, Mia and Ethan, and their Great Danes. She believes strong leadership is built on balancing professional excellence with meaningful community involvement and family life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lauryn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute most of my success to the people that I have met in my life who never gave up on me. I also attribute a lot of my success to me not thinking negatively and not waiting for "perfect timing", just making actions happen.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice is never say no. Always give it your best shot. If it's something you've never done or never tried, you should definitely give it a first try.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Try everything to see where your niche is, to see what you're good at. Don't feel bad about doing things wrong the first time. Don't expect other people to fix things for you. Make yourself valuable. Always be positive.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges are changes in the government bidding, different market changes, AI being so new and taking a lot of business away from small businesses. The opportunity is to learn about AI and apply it to your small business to stay marketable.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being positive, having good integrity, being accountable for yourself, take accountability, be proactive, and treat people with respect at all levels.
