Her Story
About Lauryn
I graduated from UCLA a year ago and have been working in fashion marketing and social media since college. Seeing gaps in the industry because social media is younger and I grew up savvy with it, I started my own influencer management company, Global Next Gen Management, about 9-10 months ago. We manage influencers by building relationships with brands and agencies to secure PR, deals, and events, while strategizing content and negotiating contracts to maximize partnerships. My success comes from personal connections, diving in headfirst with confidence despite being young, and turning potential negatives of youth into positives.

Ten minutes with Lauryn
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to personal connections with influencers and developing strong relationships with brands, companies, and agencies. Being surrounded by inspiring women mentors and deciding to dive in headfirst rather than waiting for the perfect time has been key, along with having confidence in myself and my younger team's abilities.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice is that there's never going to be a perfect time, so strike when the iron is hot and just go for it now. Being surrounded by younger women who pushed me to not put things off until tomorrow or next month resonated strongly.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
In social media, it's easy to feel like the smallest one in the room, but you're never going to feel fully ready. Experience comes from going for it anyway, even if people say you're too young or lack experience. Since the space is dominated by women, that should give you confidence to pursue it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The space is oversaturated and competitive, which can make you feel like the smallest one, but there's always room at the table if you create your own opportunity or niche instead of reusing existing ones. Being young is a challenge but also allows showing up successfully in rooms with men or legal/finance teams.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Confidence in ourselves and our abilities is crucial, especially as a younger team, turning potential negative attributes into positives so clients feel confident in us. Empathy, advocacy for clients, and tenacity also stand out, along with restoring energy through movement, dancing, meditation, manifestation, and visualization.
