Her Interview
Ten minutes with Lavinia
01What do you attribute your success to?
God. He’s aligned me with opportunities and people that both do incredible work and are incredible people. My family immediately after, they’ve always supported my dreams. My husband in particular speaks so much life into me, he’s definitely my motivation to keep going when things get tough, along with our children— to create generational wealth for them and to show them you can create a career from your passion(s).
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't wait until you're ready, because you'll never feel like you're “ready”. Just take the leap, and then trust God. If He brought you to it, He’ll bring you through it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Create more than you consume and have consistency. The combination of the two is magic. Especially in the era of social media, as we are comparing every aspect constantly.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Making it to the top requires knowing everyone, so more visible opportunities and access for stylists to climb the ladder would be beneficial. Like— can we get a Project Runway for fashion stylists?! Ha! What a dream.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Keeping my integrity intact and being myself. Integrity is the highest value both professionally and personally. Being authentic with good character also inevitably makes people want to be connected to you, and mostly attracts the right people you’d want to work with, so it’s a win-win.
