Her Interview
Ten minutes with LC
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to never ever giving up and always keeping moving. General Buck Adams told me that on the battlefield if you were downed in a plane the people that stood in one spot were the ones that always perished. The ones that kept moving survived. I've taken that advice and applied it to my own career. I don't ever stop because the second you feel comfortable that's when it all goes awry.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was from my father who said to do what you say you're gonna do when you say you're gonna do it. By living by that mantra I gained credibility.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say you know I think a lot of young women step into the workforce and they feel like posers. They don't feel like they are smart enough to be in the room. But what they don't realize is the ideas that they bring forward are just pure gold. Believe you can do more than you think you can. Never stop trying. Never ever.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I would say honesty, trust. No gossip for every one of my teams. Our mantra is you can talk amongst the family meaning the team but you do not talk outside of the family. You do not disparage the family outside of the family because that helps build that niche that cohesive team approach to things. It builds trust and credibility amongst the team.
