About Leah
She is a dedicated academic and clinical laboratory professional with over five years of experience in medical laboratory science and higher education. Currently serving as Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center, she teaches and mentors the next generation of healthcare professionals. She also spent over five years at The University of Kansas Health System as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, where she performed high-complexity testing across multiple disciplines including immunohematology, chemistry, hematology, and coagulation, and served as a Remisol superuser responsible for middleware code development and system testing. Her background also includes experience as a Laboratory Technician, Personal Care Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician and Volunteer Firefighter, and Crew Leader at KU Dining. She holds a Master of Public Health in Applied Health Informatics from Purdue Global and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from The University of Kansas.
