Her Story
About Leah
My career in social media and video content creation started about three years ago with a simple passion for creating content on my personal pages. I fell in love with the creativity of making videos and having fun with it, and then discovered it was an actual job field. This led me to pursue internships in social media and branding, and I kept finding more advanced roles as I grew. For almost a year now, I've been creating video content for Pliables across three of their Miami locations, producing content for their Instagram and TikTok pages. My typical day involves balancing classes at the University of Miami, where I'm a senior studying Creative Advertising, with my work responsibilities. My employer has been flexible, allowing me to coordinate filming between classes. I concept ideas, find inspiration, plan the shots I need to film, work with employees when they need to appear in videos, create the content, and then do all the editing remotely. The biggest challenge in this field is thinking about what will engage the audience, hit the target audience, drive people into the store, and help them fall in love with the brand in general. After graduation this May, I want to expand on what I've been doing and pursue brand storytelling, ideally working for a brand like Tarte in their creative department or social team to really help build their brand and leave an impact with their reach on social media.
