Her Story
About Leah
I am the daughter of my mother's rapist, so that was counted against me at birth. To see where God has brought me right now in my life and everything He has done, it's a testimony of true faith in God, and the hand of God in your life, and however you come into the world, totally doesn't have to determine your outcome, even though I was born a child of trauma. I have my memoir, my life story on Amazon right now called A Pretty Wreck from Trauma to Triumph. As a transformation mind coach, I've been coaching, ministering, and counseling for over 30-plus years, with actual certification for the past 7-8 years. I help people navigate through and overcome the obstacles that seem to be restricting and limiting them, whether it's in their thoughts, their career, their life, or family. I help them identify that area, and then we do strategic planning to see how I can help them work through that and provide them with the necessary tools to obtain their overall desire and outcome. I became a number one bestseller on Amazon, and on November 15th of 2025, I had a billboard drop in New York Times Square, which was one of my biggest achievements. I just crossed over as an international author this year, 2026, with the I Am a Black Woman book collaboration, joining with other authors in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am the founder of Inspire to Live and Grow Prophetic Ministries.

Ten minutes with Leah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to, number one, my faith and belief in God, my relationship with God, and accepting who I am and what I was called to do in this life. I had to move past those that said I could never do it and say, yes, I can. I have the ability and abilities to be anything that I aspire to be in life, and I could not let anything become an obstacle or hindrance to my life in order for me to accomplish every goal that I set and every dream that I hope to accomplish.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice that I've ever received was to follow your dreams, never to give up, and you have what it takes. Just apply yourself, be dedicated, be disciplined, and acquire the knowledge of your niche so that you can be the best in it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would give advice to them to take their time and allow patience to work so that they can gain the momentum that they need to identify who they are. They don't have to mimic or be like anybody else. They can be their genuine self. Really tap into what they have to offer, not only educational-wise, but experience-wise to the audience that they are called to, and to keep going and never give up, even when it gets hard and challenging.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field would be connecting with certain individuals because a lot of people are still pacified with their trauma, and there is a lot of shame and stigma attached to coming out of a traumatic situation. I believe that the challenge is connecting with the individuals and making it a comfortable environment for the individual so that they will feel safe in sharing with you those things that have become buried. They feel like it's taboo to talk about. We have to remove the stigma of the shame umbrella that they are walking under so that they feel it's possible.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Respect and integrity.
